04/12/30 - New Year's Eve at Qualicum Beach

Jen and I decided to do something a little different for New Year's this year: we headed over to Vancouver Island and spent a few days with Jen's aunt and uncle in Qualicum Beach (which is about a forty-five minute drive northward up the coast from Nanaimo). Jen's uncle Phil works with Qualicum's community theatre, the Echo Players, and we all went to a special late showing of a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol. It finished around 11:30pm, and was followed up by snacks and champaign for everyone to ring in the new year.
