03/05/10 - Mountain Festival, Battle of the Bands
This was a "Battle of the Bands" organized by Ivin-Kor, in conjunction with the Maple Ridge Mountain Festival, and held at the Memorial Park bandstand on 224th Street. Each band was given twenty minutes to impress the judges with their musicianship, stage-presence, originality, audience reaction, etc. Two of our favourite local bands were participating, DogHed and The Liquorpigs, and both of them put on an excellent show (special mention goes out to Sab Rich and Voider of The Liquorpigs, whose set, I think, far exceeded most peoples' expectations... probably including the band's, too!).
Local band ReVera took the first-place $200 prize. DogHed came second and won $125, while The Liquorpigs took $75 for third.
Apologies for the poor quality on some of these. The sun was setting almost directly behind the stage, so a lot of them turned out quite dark. For more pictures (and videos!) check out Cliff's site.
